Amherst College Interterm 2016 - Machine Shop

Sponsored by the Department of Physics & Astronomy, “Intro to Machine Shop” is a three-week interterm class offered at Amherst College and facilitated by Jim Kubasek. This course provides a hands-on opportunity for students to learn the basics of working with metal. Students are introduced to the safe operation of metal lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders as well as other equipment, and learn the proper use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
