A recent conference in Asheville helped amputees better understand and cope with Phantom Limb pain. Health providers at every level discussed that many amputees in this area are either war veterans or victims of motorcycle accidents. Caring for amputees is important at every stage, from surgery to prostheses to managing continuing pain from limbs no longer there. Participants learned about new medications and other promising treatments coming onto the market
