September 30th 2010, AMS Performance Alpha 10 Package equipped Nissan GT-R driven by John Shepherd sets a new R35 GT-R 1/4 Mile Record with a
[email protected] MPH pass.
Truly Nissan GTR has proved it to be a new league of super cars. It's chassi/transmission is so strong and engine has proven itself to be capable of handling the extensive pressure from bigger turbo chargers without any problem. Truly a new benchmark of all round performance, daily driving super car with fraction of the price of its competitors.
PS: Some explanation for false comparison of GTR with Bugatti Veyron. Since Veyron does 1/4 mile in 9.8 seconds and Veyron SS does it in about 8 seconds, many people aruge this GTR is even faster then Bugatti Veyron. Veyron is a stock production car, what would that mean is it can be driven for thousands of miles without any major problem except regular maintenance however for such a tuned GTR, you would need replacement parts every 1000/1500 miles. Also, the engine for such exception modification won't last long. that is the sole reason why Nissan does not do it from factory itself as it voids the warranty. Also even with those modifications, if this modded GTR can compare to veyron in 1/4 mile it can not compare at speeds in access of 150MPH... Because that is where a bugatti really comes to life and is built to be stable at those exceptional high speeds whereas GTR is not engineered to go faster then 200MPH.
All in all GTR is an amazing car.
