This composition is chapter 67 in the text ‘Mokshmala’, which was written by Shrimadji at the tender age of 16 years and 5 months. Verse 1 – English Meaning This blessed human life has been obtained as a result of accumulated meritorious karmas. Alas, however, not a single round of life cycle has been reduced thereby! At least bear in mind that true happiness is missed by endeavoring for the worldly pleasure. Why then relish indulging in spiritual death every moment! Verse 2 – English Meaning Please consider what sort of real gain there is in increase of wealth, growth of status or expansion of family and relations. That merely extends the life cycle and the purpose of human life is lost thereby. Alas, you do not happen to think of it even for a moment! Verse 3 – English Meaning Avail of harmless pleasure and innocent joy from any quarter in a way that can release the divinely capable soul from the chains of karmas. I am concerned about it being entangled in extraneous objectives. In order to avert it please keep in mind the principle that happiness, which is followed by unhappiness, is not true happiness. Verse 4 – English Meaning Who am I? Where did I come from? What is my true nature? In what connections am I entangled? Should I retain or give them up? If these questions are prudently and quietly addressed to the Self, it would be possible to realize all fundamentals of spiritual science. Verse 5 – English Meaning Whom should we rely upon for realizing it but the Flawless One who has experienced it? Seek your soul, seek your soul; have equanimity for all and keep these words engraved at heart. What is #Ajnabhakti? A fundamental and important part of a seeker's spiritual practices is bhakti.
