Robert Carradine made his film debut with fellow child actor Stephen Hudis, as cowboys. It was filmed at various locations in New Mexico, Colorado and at Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, California. Based on the novel by William Dale Jennings, the screenplay was written by Irving Ravetch, Harriet Frank, Jr., and Jennings, and directed by Mark Rydell. The lute concerto in D major, RV 93, is one of four works featuring the solo lute. Vivaldi wrote the piece in the 1730s, a period in which he wrote two of his other works featuring the lute, the trios for violin and lute in G minor and C major. The concerto is in three movements: 1.-Allegro/2.-Largo/3.-Allegro The Largo is once again a piece of touching beauty; also written in binary form, it gives the lute a melodic line of ecstatic nature, while the violins sing long notes and the bass carries out a harmonic support never banal and of noble simplicity. The construction of the progression within the first section is conceived on a sound constructed thanks to the delicate repressed notes assigned to the lute and to the delays of the first line of the violin. The second section starts at the minor relative tone, but does not take up much space; after only four measures, in fact, the starting point starts again, which leads directly to the queue and the consequent resumption of the second complete section.
