Curated Expedition to the Baltic Sea. Artist Antti Laitinen sailed from Finland (arriving in Tallinn in the morning of the 8th of August 2010) on a boat made from pine bark gathered from the floor of local forests. The boat, about three meters long, used wind energy to sail across the Gulf of Finland. Antti was escorted by another boat from which the expedition was documented with an audiovisual work presenting the whole process from the gathering of bark in the forest to the crossing of the Gulf. Antti's bark boat was afterwards transported from Pirita Harbor to the Noblessner Port. "Curated Expedition to the Baltic Sea" is a Capsula and Finnish Bioart Society project, the results of which will be presented in the European Capital of Culture Turku 2011 program. In Tallinn, we would like to thank the people from Pirita Harbour, Lennusadam and Port Noblessner, who kindly assisted and helped us. Curated Expeditions to the Baltic Sea is financed by the Turku 2011 Foundation. The project is part of the Turku 2011 Capital of Culture programme Read more at http://00capsula00.wordpress.com/2010/05/07/curated-expedition-to-the-baltic-sea/ Video: Pedro Balbás Ripoll
