April 13, 2015 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr. New Jersey officially sets the 2015 summer flounder and black sea bass regulations, with a new ‘slot’ change to the striped bass bonus program starting September 1. More striped bass reports are coming from both the Delaware beachfront as well as river and back bay locations throughout New Jersey including the Tuckahoe, Great Egg, Mullica and Raritan. A 42-inch striped bass was reported caught and released in South Jersey late last week, while the first keeper-size bass were reported along North Jersey bayshore hotspots at Union and Cliffwood Beach. Action continues along the Mullica, while a few fish have also been landed on the frontside beaches where bunker have also been showing in much better numbers during the past week. While few folks are targeting the winter flounder, Central Jersey hot spots are proving to hold a few blackbacks, with a few monsters reported in Barnegat Bay. Windy, rainy conditions much of last week stymied the offshore wreck action, but reports are coming in on tautog action at some of the local jetties in New Jersey too!
