Apologies for the pixelation. I did encode this video originally in my normal 8 mbps format, but it skipped frames and looked blurry. So, I upped it to 48 (48!) Mbps and it looks lovely on my PC. Unfortunately, youtube doesn't like it. I don't know if it's just that youtube hates fast moving videos or if it's getting my 48 Mbps file, thinks 'this is too big! Let's re-encode it twice to punish him' and that's what's causing the pixelation. Either way, I like to think of this video as an investment- when youtube improves the quality of its videos, much like it did when it jumped from SD to HD several years ago, this video should also improve :)
I wonder if the good quality of the original clip actually makes this look worse- perhaps if the original didn't show every blade of glass clearly, this version would do a better job at converting it to a lower bit-rate. Just a thought.
Running across Armed Assault 2's main level, Chernarus. Took a while, since it slowed my PC down and for some reason because of that it runs the game at normal speed instead of 4x. So yes, it took a while to do. To add to that, my game crashed 4000 metres from the end and I needed to make another bit joining it up to the end. EVERYTHING SUCKS! I blame Arma 2, obviously.
