With winter fast approaching it was time for a quick trip over to Barnetby in Lincolnshire to capture the freight workings over there while there was still enough daylight to make the trip worth while.
Gone are the dozens of Class 56 locomotives which used to pass constatly through the station, as are a lot of the workings, like so many other parts of the country. One thing Barnetby does still cling on to is it's plethora of semaphore signalling and it's proper signal boxes, though these too will soon be consigned to history.
It's not all doom and gloom though, despite the influx of Class 66s there was still so much to see with a few Class 60s on hand as well as a pair of DRS Class 20s on the RHTT working. There were two class 60s on the Iron Ore traffic, 60019 & 60062 while 60010 arrived to the party later on with a rather long tanker train and finally 60007 made an appearance at the end. While the prospect of seeing 4 tugs in one day is great the number really should have been higher but two workings didn't run and the Preston Docks job was hauled by a shed today.
It's also worth noting my most favourite bowl ever, some may moan at such a thing but I held my ground as I wanted that 60 so badly, heck where else can you get bowled by something decent?
The following locomotives were captured today,
66598, 66528, 66566, 66061, 66238, 66131
66065, 66144, 66009, 66063, 66181, 66596
66095, 66016, 66230, 66715, 66188, 60019
60062, 60010, 66007, 20304, 20312
Due to the nature of most of the workings, the majority of locos made several appearances - especially the 60s but who would complain about that?
Also video 200 - woo hoo!!!
Best enjoyed in 1080 with the sound up
