Barum, the tyre brand well known for its affordable quality, is pleased to announce the introduction of its new Vanis 2 tyre, which will be available from spring 2013. The successor to the popular and reliable Vanis summer tyre, the Vanis 2 promises customers even greater tyre life, comfort and safety thanks to its clever design and engineering. Cost effectiveness has always been a priority at Barum and the new Vanis 2 is no exception. The tyre has two new features guaranteed to give it both a longer life and increase its mileage potential. Firstly, the flat tyre contour maximises the tyres contact area and weight distribution which means more even wear and improved mileage capability. In addition, the robust sidewall of the tyre has been given an extra rubber layer, this gives it greater protection from scuffing on kerbs and thus increases the life of the tyre. Greater comfort is achieved in the new Vanis 2 thanks to a noise breaker in the shoulder area. The closed shoulder grooves mean noise is no longer able to penetrate out, reducing noise levels and contributing to a better quality driving experience. Finally, to enhance the tyres safety, three wide circumferential drainage grooves in the tread allow water to drain quickly and reduce the chance of aquaplaning. Tread rigidity has been optimised with increased stability in circumferential blocks so drivers can rely on shorter braking distances on dry surfaces.
