Battlefield 1 Spring Update DLC Overview

Biggest talking points from the Spring Update in Battlefield 1 include: Platoons, new ribbons, new dogtags, new variations of Rank 10 weapons, map voting, grenade and plane nerfs, and a new medic spotting tool. Platoons serve as clans in Battlefield 1, and actually let you do a lot. The Spring Update also adds 19 more teamplay-focused ribbons to reward players with extra XP for tasks like reviving or spotting enemies. Five new dogtags have also been added. Four new weapon variants were added: Hellriegel Defensive, Huot Optical, Selbstlader 1906 Sniper, and the Martini-Henry Sniper. Grenades got a nerf in the new patch. DICE added slight throw delay to all grenades, and reduced the outer blast radius of most of the lethal grenades. Similarly, fuse timings were also increased on most lethal grenades. Topping this off, DICE says grenades will no longer resupply unless a player is near an ammo crate or pack. The developers are hopeful these measures will go a long way in reducing grenade spam. Airplanes also got a balancing pass. DICE increased the damage to planes from anti-aircraft guns and small arms. Similarly, the effectiveness of an aircraft’s Ranken Darts has been reduced. This should help even the playing field for those with their boots on the ground. Lastly, DICE added a new feature allowing medics to alert fallen players that a revive is inbound. If you’re a medic, spot a downed soldier to tell them you’re on your way.
