BBC Newsnight - David Starkey on Race & the Riots

first aired friday 12 august 2011. herein, British Historian David Starkey directly conflates black culture with criminality, and white culture with prosperity and success. among the many preposterous things he says here, this really stuck out for me. not only are such assertions woefully ignorant, and prejudiced, they also abjectly fail to explain or understand the problems which led to the rioting. nationalists have siezed on the comments herein by Starkey, giving more traction to their ideology now that an "establishment 'Old Boy'" has made claims that fit in with the narrative they are seeking to establish.
