To me thats a hobby and a passions that can stay with them for life, I know it has for me. Now depending on the age of your children, there are a lot of different cameraas that might suit your needs. First off, before you go off and buy a brand new dslr for them, I always recommend using what you've got around at the moment. And generally these days, that’s going to be one of these, you’re smart phone. Especially if youre child is a little younger, getting them to pracitse taking photos on a phone is one of the best things you can do. Phones are super easy to use with their large displays, you can take a tonne of photos for almost no cost and because they’ve generally got a fixed focal length, kids need to use their feet to move rather than just zooming. Another idea for younger children is this camera right here, and it’s one of my favorites. This is an instax mini which is essentially a instant camera just like polaroids from teh old days. These are so much fun to use and to a lot of kids, seeing these develop is like magic to their eyeys. Not only that, because you only get one shot and theres not deleting or editing, kids are forced to really try and get the best shot possible and take their time which is great. The film can be a little bit expensive, but to me it’s worth it especially as their photos wont be stuck on a hard drive or sd card. But of coruse, theres only so much that you can do on a phone or a polaroid, and learning on a bigger camera is always good. So if you want to do that, I'd take a look at getting an older DSLR. Now you don't want to use a camera from 2005, but a camera such as the canon T2i which came out in 2010 would be a good first step. The T2i also has 1080p video recording as welll which means thats another thisng that they can learn. It is a little outdated now though so if you want a new DSLR, the latest beginner dslrs are these ones here. Firstly we have the Nikon D3400. This is Nikons entry level camera and it’s a beauty. It's easy to use and has wireless built in so your kids could transfer their photos to their phone to share online. On the Canon side, there are a few new options. Firstly the Canon SL1 could be good as it’s a very small camera, good for kids with little hands. Another option could be this one here, the Canon T6 which is one of the most popular beginner cameras for this year. Now obvioususly DSLR’s are a little bit more difficult to use, and also pretty fragile, so another option you could think of is an action camera like a go pro. Now this one here is a Gopro hero 5, and it's pretty exepnsvie, so I’d recommend you get an older model like the go pro hero 4 or even 3. You could even look at some of the cheaper brands like the Yi Action camera. You can get these really cheap these days and they’ll be great for your kids to learn on. So they some of the cameras I'd recommend for kids.
