Better Days is a song inspired by someone who spent years of self abuse at the hands of alcohol. Has now moved on and given up alcohol altogether. It's not a song which is critical of drinkers (I'm one). Just demonstrates the condition we ften get into. Great at the time but the regrets linger on.
