I spent a short vacation in Ecuador, January 12 - 20, this year (2012). The only places visited was Papallacta Hot Springs (one night), Guango Lodge (two short visits) and WildSumaco Lodge (seven nights). I was mostly there for Butterflies and Moths, but HEY, birds were plentiful! I plan to post 3 parts with mostly birds, way later there will be a separate part with just Lepidoptera.
In this first part we'll se footage of Viridian Metaltail, White-bellied Woodstar, Tourmaline Sunangel, Buff-tailed Coronet, Long-tailed Sylph, Mountain Velvetbreast, Sword-billed Hummingbird (briefly), Cliff Flycatcher, Sparkling Violetear, Many-spotted Hummingbird, Wire-crested Thorntail, Gould's Jewelfront, Golden-tailed Sapphire, Squirrel Cuckoo, Chestnut-tipped Toucanet and Channel-billed Toucan.
I have also inserted some photos: Viridian Metaltail, Pale-naped Brush Finch and Chestnut-tipped Toucanet.
