As I contemplated the lyrics, the line "you were always waiting for this moment to arise" stood out at me - it felt like an anthem for the downtrodden and hopeless. I began to hear the melody not as the melancholy tune we all know, but a driving call to awaken one's inner strength and do the seemingly impossible. Like a chick that will never fly unless it leaps from the nest, we too cannot ever soar and achieve our personal greatness unless we take that terrifying leap that feels like it could lead to death. The emotional journey toward deciding to jump can be arduous, and that is the story I intended to tell through this arrangement. To me, the dancer represents that inner spirit, filled with conviction but afraid of the unknown, and the music is the voice that we all have inside that says, "Be bold. Be courageous.
