See us at the St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show, December 5-8 2013 Booth 133 In the Big Tent In this edition of Boca Ciega Yacht Club's Basic Sailing School we go sailing on Boca Ciega Bay near Gulfport Florida on a beautiful sunny spring day . This was the first time many of the students had been in a sailboat. The wind is up, the sun shining, its a bit rough on the bay for filming however the 16.5 Catalinas are in thier groove - Let's Go Sailing Boca Ciega Yacht Club in Gulfport Fl offers the sailor a private marina with 75 wet slips and 50 dry slips with an 8,000sf club house in a tropical setting. BCYC maintains a fleet of 16.5 Catalina keel boats, sunfish and prams. Featured here are the Catalina's - and yes they are keel boats - fun safe and fast! All club owned boats are available to members on a first come first serve basis. However the Catalina's are unavailable two full months of the year during Sailing School and are heavily used by the racing group. Access to dry slips and T docks are limited by club activities, some of which occur on holiday weekends. Access to the wet slips is unlimited. There are extensive opportunities for cruising and racing as well as many other club activities.
