ONe finish that I have used in the homes of a few customers and in my own dining room is Bona's Traffic HD. It's one of the most durable, water-based finishes one can get for residential or commercial use. Given the inconvenience and the cost of refinishing hardwood floors, it's hard to not at least want to use a durable finish like this, so that you will provide the most protection for the floors and can enjoy them longer before having to refinish them again. Keep in mind, though, that using a finish like this does come at some extra cost. This finish cost about twice as much per gallon than Bona's Novia finish, a basic floor finish. For the record, Bona is NOT paying me to say this - although if someone from Bona sees this, I wouldn't mind ;-)
