Two bombs exploded during today's Boston Marathon (April 15, 2013). Carlos and Melida Arredondo were in the VIP seating section at Copley Square when the surprise explosions occurred; a certified Red Cross worker, Carlos explains his efforts to help the first people injured in the blasts and the nature of their injuries. Like many others who expected today's event to be one of solidarity and enjoyment with friends, Melida explains how people have become separated in the after-blast crowd, with limited access to communications. The Arredondos, whose two sons were casualties of war (Alex, in Iraq; Brian, to suicide), discuss their horror at seeing war-zone-like bloodshed in their own backyard: "Why"?
