BREAD

„Podlasie's histories" is a series of short documentary films about perishing customs of the villages in Podlasie. The project is based on two bases: spirituality and everyday life. Its purpose is saving the customs, which are now rarely done, from being forgotten. The films are regarding: baking bread from sourdough, smoking meat, making baskets and brooms, producing beeswax candles or Easter palms. In the films are also to be seen the colours and landscapes of Podlasie: bright meadows, forests, peat bogs or thatched roofs. The storylines of the films are dealing with the topics but it is also not lacking some stories connected with it. Besides in every film is a recipe or an instruction for self making.
