At an altitude of 4419 mtrs. (14500 ft.) this large statue of Buddha is in Langza village staring across the Spiti valley. Built between 2002 and 2005 it is frequently visited by tourists.
Also known as the FOSSIL VILLAGE Langza is also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road. Owing to its proximity to Tibet in China, the population of the village is predominantly Buddhist and belongs to the Sakyapa sect of Tibetian Buddhism.
