MEET BRANDON ABRERA Currently from Chino, California, Brandon "Bee" Abrera began dancing at age 16 in the Summer of 2007 for the Hip-Hop/Modern section of his church Philippine Cultural Night. It was there he met members from Common Ground's junior dance team, UnderGround, and decided to audition in the Fall of 2007. Feeling overwhelmingly blessed to have made the team, Bee began to train and compete with UnderGround, and quickly fell in love with dance, with the dance community, and with his family members from the Ground family. While training and competing with UnderGround, Bee auditioned for Boogiezone's junior Exhibition team, Offspring, in the Summer of 2008, and was thankful to have made the team and dance with such an amazing and talented group of youth dancers from various different junior dance teams and from the industry. After 2 years of training under UnderGround and Offspring, Bee auditioned for UC Irvine's Common Ground dance team in February of 2009, and was humbled to become part of the team, because he was only 18 at the time, and still studying in high school. His first ever performance with Common Ground was at Body Rock 2009 -- Army set. Bee felt extremely lucky to experience such a special performance with the dancers he had always looked up to, and was driven to return to Common Ground for the following 2009-2010 season and train hard under the artistic direction of his mentors Tuan Duong, Chris Bitun, and Matt Gutierrez. With their guidance and direction, Bee was blessed and honored with the opportunity of being the current Co-Artistic Director of Common Ground, working alongside Clarence Bitun and Kayla Mallari. He wants to thank all of his mentors and role models that have helped shaped him today, and dedicate this class to the Ground family. None of his accomplishments and opportunities would be possible without them. Love you guys. At the current age of 20, this is Bee's 4th year dancing, and his first time teaching Boogiezone. He is exteremely grateful for this experience. Thank you Elm for this amazing opportunity! It means the world to me. DISCLAIMER: For Inspirational purposes only.
