Calosoma Scrutator (Fiery Searcher)

I have been seeing so many of these beetles this year. They are also known as caterpillar hunters, but they will eat other soft body insects, but usually caterpillars and cutworms are their main diet. These beetles are really colorful when the sun is shining on them, and you definetly don't want them to bite you, they have some very sharp and powerful mandibles.
