Canadian Air Force C17 BIRDSTRIKE EMERGENCY LANDING at Prestwick Airport

Hi all. On 19th October 2016, I was at Prestwick Airport during sunset to catch a Canadian C17 depart. This ended up being very eventful. This is because it had a Birdstrike around 1000 feet after departure and had to return with Engine number 2 shutdown. Please note, I did NOT catch the Birdstrike, I have filming the full event from takeoff until the C17 is waiting taxi back to stand with its remaining 3 engines, this did not happen until it was pitch dark and is not included in the video. Before landing the plane did a few loops around the Prestwick area. Once the plane had finally went to the stand, an inspection was carried out and the number 2 engine will likely need to be replaced due to 12 fan blades being damages. I'm glad this event ended well as the crew landing the plane safely. There have been reports from witnesses that flames were coming out of the engine after the bird strike. Hats off to crew for great piloting.
