Cartier the Beluga at Red Bay National Historic Site: Red Bay, Labrador

We saw this very social little guy on our trip through Labrador in September 2010. He loved the propeller on the boat. Truman Mackey, of Gull Island Charters who we were with, told us that the whale has been hanging out in the bay a lot this season. He said the whale comes to the boat whenever he turns it on and follows behind the propeller while Tuman operates the water taxi from Red Bay to Saddle Island. He believes the same animal was in the bay two summers ago.
