Changing Relationships Among Alaska Hunters, Wildlife, and Habitat, 2015

Presented by Todd Brinkman Assistant Professor of Wildlife Ecology Abstract: During the last 10 years, I've collaborated on several studies exploring how climate and landscape change have influenced large-game hunting across Alaska. I present findings on deer, moose, caribou, and whale hunting systems. I concluded that recent changes have challenged common hunting practices primarily by disrupting access to hunting areas. Innovative hunting strategies and flexible policies will be required to foster hunter adaptation.
