An absolutely beautiful but in my eyes very underrated region of NSW is the Eastern escarpment of New England Tableland. It has spectacular gorges, rainforest, magnificent waterfalls, excellent 4wd touring and stunning rivers and brooks. The area is protected by 25 National Parks with three of the listed as World Heritage Areas by UNESCO. The coastal flowing Clarence, Macleay and Manning, Rivers all have their headwaters on the eastern escarpment of the Tableland.
