Clarksville Attorneys Indicted on Extortion Charges - Erika Lathon

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Two former Clarksville law partners are indicted on extortion charges following a two year TBI investigation. Fletcher Long and Carrie Gasaway turned themselves in to the Montgomery County Jail on Wednesday. They're accused of having a former client arrested after she refused to pay $50,000 in addition to legal fees previously agreed upon. Fletcher Long tells Fox 17 News, I did not threaten this woman. I did not cause her to be arrested and I'm not guilty of this offense. Carrie Gasaway left the jail without commenting. She later emailed a statement ... Saying she was anxious to resolve the case ... and move toward being exonerated. The trial is set for September but Long and Gassaway have filed motions to have the date moved up. Gassaway is married to Clarksville Circuit Court Judge, John Gasaway.
