About CORE Dance Festival: Core Dance Festival and the Gala was created to forge new connections in the American, Slovak, Austrian, and Hungarian dance communities, growing out of a need to further develop the Central/eastern European dance community by providing a truly international platform for teachers, dancers, students, and choreographers. It was created with the intention for the dance community in Central/Eastern Europe to gain further visibility and artistic credibility and have dancers think about their art-form from new vantage points: seeing the myriad possibilities for collaboration, performance, and career development. More than just steps, CORE is an idea-festival introducing dancers to intelligent work being created in the region while attending seminars, mentorships, and coaching that discuss, among others, career- and self-development issues as it pertains to dancers. It is where dancers converge and get involved with the international dance community and make connections outside their home countries to absorb new movements, make new connections, and take part in the creation of new ground-breaking work.
