☣ 31/01/2020☣ In China, at least 213 people have died and more than 9,692 cases recorded across the country, according to the government on Friday⚠ China-Russia border closed⚠ The WHO held an urgent meeting on Thursday after the coronavirus had spead to at least 18 countries - and declared the new virus a global health emergency. ☣ 30/01/2020☣ As of January 30, the death toll in China stands at 170, with 7,736 confirmed cases of infections. In the past week, the number of confirmed infections has more than tripled and cases have been found in 13 provinces, as well as the municipalities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Tianjin. The virus has also been confirmed outside China, in Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Nepal, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam. There have not been any confirmed cases in the UK at present, with the more than 160 people tested for the virus all proving negative. The actual number to have contracted the virus could be far higher as people with mild symptoms may not have been detected. Modelling by WHO experts at Imperial College London suggests there could be as many as 100,000 cases, with uncertainty putting the margins between 30,000 and 200,000. ☣ 29/01/2020☣ There are now at least 162 dead from Wuhan coronavirus in China’s Hubei province – the epicenter of the outbreak – and a total of 7816 confirmed cases in the province by the end of Wednesday, according to Hubei’s provincial health authority. ☣ 28/01/2020 ☣ The latest numbers: At least 132 people are dead and more than 6,000 cases have been confirmed in mainland China, as the Wuhan coronavirus spreads across Asia and the rest of the world. ☣ 29/01/2020☣ There are now at least 162 dead from Wuhan coronavirus in China’s Hubei province – the epicenter of the outbreak – and a total of 4,586 confirmed cases in the province by the end of Wednesday, according to Hubei’s provincial health authority. The case count for the province has gone up by 1,032, and death toll has gone up by 37 from the previous day. This brings the number of cases for mainland China to over 7,000 and the death toll for mainland China to 170.
