Court releases Babu Owino on Ksh10m cash bail

Embakasi East Member Of Parliament Babu Owino was Monday freed on a 10 million shilling cash bail to be paid in four installments of 2.5million shillings each. In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi directed that the sum be used in settling the medical bills of Felix Orinda, the victim who Babu is alleged to have shot at a night club in Nairobi. Andayi prohibited Babu from indulging in any form of taking alcoholic drinks or narcotics in a public establishment until the case is heard and determined. The release brings to a stop a seven day incarceration period where the law maker spent at the industrial area remand prison after denying attempted murder and disorderly behaviour while bearing a fire arm charges. The matter will be mentioned on the 6th of February this year.
