This song is last track of "Nymphetamine," the sixth studio album from English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. Recorded between February and July 2004, it was released on 28 September by record label Roadrunner. Cradle of Filth are a British extreme metal band that formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic metal and other metal genres. Their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films. The band's style has been described as symphonic black metal, gothic metal, "gothic black metal" and even "dark metal". However, the band's evolving sound has allowed them to continue resisting definitive categorisation. They are audibly influenced by Iron Maiden."We'd rather be known as solely 'Cradle of Filth', I think, than be hampered by stupid genre barriers." Dani Filth NYMPHETAMINE The title track concerns itself with a love affair so intense, that although soured and dead, it ignites at the slightest sniff of re-invention. The cool thing about this song is that it is really a beast of several parts: a chimera. The main hub of the song is very lovelorn and drowsily melodic and it is these traits combined with shared female and male vocal passages that serve to highlight the plight of this, the title track of the album. However, this is offset against the first and last parts of the song, forming a darkly erotic triptych. They have sometimes been perceived as satanic by casual observers, even though their outright lyrical references to Satanism are few and far between; their use of satanic imagery has arguably always been more for shock value rather than any seriously held beliefs. CRADLE OF FILTH LYRICS "Nymphetamine (Fix)" (feat. Liv Kristine) Lead to the river Midsummer, I waved A 'V' of black swans On with hope to the grave All through Red September With skies fire-paved I begged you appear Like a thorn for the holy ones Cold was my soul Untold was the pain I faced when you left me A rose in the rain So I swore to thy razor That never, enchained Would your dark nails of faith Be pushed through my veins again Bared on your tomb I am a prayer for your loneliness And would you ever soon Come above unto me? For once upon a time From the binds of your lowliness I could always find The right slot for your sacred key Six feet deep is the incision In my heart, that barless prison Discolours all with tunnel vision Sunsetter Nymphetamine Sick and weak from my condition This lust, a vampyric addiction To her alone in full submission None better Nymphetamine Nymphetamine, nymphetamine Nymphetamine girl Nymphetamine, nymphetamine My nymphetamine girl Wracked with your charm I am circled like prey Back in the forest Where whispers persuade More sugar trails More white lady laid Than pillars of salt (Keeping Sodom at night at bay) Fold to my arms Hold their mesmeric sway And dance out to the moon As we did in those golden days Christening stars I remember the way We were needle and spoon Mislaid in the burning hay Bared on your tomb I am a prayer for your loneliness And would you ever soon Come above unto me? For once upon a time From the binds of your holiness I could always find The right slot for your sacred key Six feet deep is the incision In my heart, that barless prison Discolours all with tunnel vision Sunsetter Nymphetamine Sick and weak from my condition This lust, a vampyric addiction To her alone in full submission None better Nymphetamine Sunsetter Nymphetamine None better Nymphetamine Nymphetamine, nymphetamine Nymphetamine girl Nymphetamine, nymphetamine My nymphetamine girl Studio album by Cradle of Filth Released 28 September 2004 Recorded February–July 2004 at Parkgate Studios, Battle, East Sussex and The Chapel Studios, South Thoresby, Lincolnshire, England Genre Extreme metal Label Roadrunner Producer Rob Caggiano and Cradle of Filth SOURCE: Cradle Of Filth & NYMPHETAMINE by WIKIPEDIA (CC BY SA) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymphetamine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cradle_of_Filth ORIGINAL VIDEOCLIP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dW6aNAZGTM "No Copyright Infringement Intended, Strictly For Promotional Purposes Only!
