CRAZIEST Laws in AmericaУ вашего броузера проблема в совместимости с HTML5
America is an amalgam of mixed ideals and sometimes those ideals belonging to the people in power get pushed onto the public and become laws. Whether good or bad, each state seems to have their own hard to believe law. From bouncing pickles to wrestling bears, here are some strange laws you may not have heard of. North Dakota The Code of Ordinances in Devils, Lake, North Dakota states in Chapter 8.20 under section 8.20.030 that no person is allowed to set off fireworks unless it is between certain hours. The official time they can be set off is between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm otherwise it’s considered disturbing the peace. The previous section, however, states that fire works can only be used no earlier than July 1st up until July 5th. 10. New Mexico According to a 2013 constitutional amendment for New Mexico’s constitution, all “idiots” are prohibited from being allowed to vote in elections. New Mexico’s classification for “idiots” is as follows: “insane persons and persons convicted of a felonious or infamous crime unless restored to political rights.” Apparently, as far as we know, this is the only law of its kind that is enforced in America. 9. Nebraska In the state of Nebraska, it is considered against the law for any individual who is afflicted by an STI or sexually transmitted infection to get married. The Nebraska Revised Statute Chapter 42 Section 102 says “No person who is afflicted with a venereal disease shall marry in this state.” This also coming from a state that has a no whale hunting law even though they have no whales whatsoever. 8. Montana Section 4-304 of the Billings, Montana Code of Ordinances explicitly states that rats are not to be sold as pets, toys or given to anyone as a gift. The raising of rats is also prohibited, unless, they’re being raised as food for either snakes, birds of prey or both. This law excludes scientists who use them as part of their research projects. 7. Alaska Under the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska, it is illegal for drivers to keep any animal in the back seat of an open vehicle unless they are enclosed in a cage or tethered to the vehicle. This is to ensure that the animal will not jump or fall out of the moving vehicle. The law was created after someone’s dog was reported as being a public nuisance. 6. Tennessee Back on June 1, 2011, a new bill was passed by Tennessee lawmakers that prohibits people from sharing their login information to sites like Netflix and Napster. The bill was backed by professionals in the recording industry as a way to try and prevent piracy. It’s aimed at people who sell the logins for a profit rather than those who share it with their friends but even they can be faced with fines and even jail time. 5. California It might be hard for some to believe but the state of California has a statewide ban on single-use plastic bags at major retail stores. Some of those stores can also charge you 10 cents per bag if you opt for reusable plastic bags, compostable bags, and recycled paper bags. Under Proposition 67, the ban that was introduced in 2014 passed two years later as part of the November 2016 ballot and the legislation became permanent. 4. Arkansas Thanks to someone who was probably feeling a bit “hangry,” it is now illegal for a person to honk their vehicle’s horn near an establishment that sells cold drinks and sandwiches after 9pm. Most places are closed by 9pm so it’s considered as disturbing the peace. The law can be found under the Little Rock, Arkansas List of Ordinances as Section 18-54. 3. Arizona In the state of Arizona, it is illegal for donkeys to sleep in bathtubs. How did this come to be? Well, sometime back in the 1920’s a local damn in Arizona broke and a rancher’s house became flooded. The rancher’s pet donkey had grown used to sleeping in the tub and as a result, it was washed away. The animal was later found several miles away and was rescued. They passed this law so that they wouldn’t have to deal with an ordeal like this again. 2. Missouri The act of bear wrestling where a person, not another bear, physically wrestles a bear, was banned back in November 3, 1998. There are actually 8 different types of ways you can receive a penalty all of which can be found listed in the Revisor of Statutes. The class A misdemeanor was introduced due to all the animal cruelty violations. 1. Alabama According to Section 32-5A-53, Alabama state law declares that it is illegal for any persons to operate a vehicle while blindfolded. The same law states that the person may not drive their vehicle if there are too many persons to the point where it obstructs the would-be driver’s frontal and side views. Someone clearly attempted this and it resulted in this law being made.
