We all know (or should know) that even when we have an advisory Glide Path (LNAV+V) we MUST obey the altitude restrictions, particularly the Minimum Descent Altitude (MDA). I saw the reason first hand the other day flying into KEKN, Elkins-Randolph WV. If I was approaching at night, and had blissfully followed the purple triangle, it could have been fatal. I have read about airports where this is the case, but this was the first time I actually saw it for myself.
