Daniel Kaluuya to Star in Controversial Drama Queen & Slim

The trades have announced that Daniel Kaluuya is set to star in Queen and Slim, a provocative romantic drama from Lena Waithe, who worked off an original idea and treatment written by bestselling author James Frey. Master of None helmer Melina Matsoukas will make her feature directorial debut with the project, which Universal will release on Nov. 27, 2019. The film centers on a black man and black woman whose first date turns deadly when the two are pulled over by a police officer at a traffic stop and kill the cop in self-defense.
