Dawnalee Loney aiming to win Class 1 400m title for Balaclava High - CHAMPS 2014 - SX

As part of our special coverage of the 2014 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships SportsXplorer Multimedia interviewed several athletes about 'Champs 2014'. We spoke with Dawnalee Loney, the fast rising standout from Balaclava High School, shortly after she had perhaps the upset of the CARIFTA Trials at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica on March 9, 2014. She shocked a strong field that included Vere Technical High School standout and national representative Yanique McNeil (2nd - 53.00) Edwin Allen High standout Camira Haughton (3rd - 53.01), St Jago High School standout Genekee Leith, to win the Girls U-20 FINAL in a NEW PERSONAL BEST 52.87 seconds. The splendid run shaved almost 2 SECONDS off of her previous best of 54.32 set earlier this year.
