Debug: The apology?

I've been struggling for quite a while now as to how to bring this up. But I have now decided that rather than lose any more sleep over it, I'd bite the bullet and get it out there. During the making of the film Debug I had asked fans from around the world to submit their photos and fill out a release form so that I could use them in the film. Your response was fantastic, hundreds of people took the time to come and see me at conventions or to submit their photos over the web. I was so excited about the idea of having all these people appearing in the film (along with Jason Momoa!). However, during the edit we encountered a lot of notes and confusion about their inclusion in the film from our test audiences and the decision was made to cut the sequences from the movie. I was devastated but struggled to reuse them in a similar sequence at the very end, but unfortunately it was too late and there was no money left for the VFX work required to make that happen. It is a part of filmmaking that I hate...that you basically have to kill some of your babies in order to help the overall film, and I'm afraid that these sequences were the ones that had to go. I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that I didn't make this decision lightly and it still hurts me to know that they won't get used as I'd so hoped. There is however some footage of these sequences around in rough form and I'm hoping that I will be able to dig them up and get the permission needed to show them to you. Thank you all for being a part of my movie, even if you won't be see in it, you have been thanked, by name at the end of the film...and I'm determined to get you all into my next one!
