DEEP-SKY TIMELAPSE: The Antares- Rho Ophiuchi region - 4K

In this episode of 'Deep-sky timelapse', we travel to a region that looks very close to the milky way core you're looking in 2D. In reality the region is closer to us than to the downtown area of our home galaxy: The Antares and Rho Ophiuchi region. It a very bright area mostly known for its colors. You could not pick them up with the naked eye and barely with a usual camera, but an astro-modified camera would allow you to reveal the reds, yellow and blues! There are lots of cool objects to gaze at: Antares the red (a red giant that is one of the brightest and the biggest star of our night sky!), the dark lanes (Barnard 44, 45) of gaz blocking the light from the stars, M4 (a globular cluster), and many other nebulae (emission and reflection). In the northern hemisphere this region of the sky usually is announcing the rise of the milky way in the Spring. It is visible throughout the Spring, summer and Fall depending on where you are located and provided you have a clear and dark sky. It best viewed with a telescope to zoom in but you can really get great stuff now with commercial cameras. I used an astro-modded 6D and various fast lenses ranging from 14mm to 135mm to get the best out of each single frame of the timelapse and reveal the beautiful colors. I also used a tracker (Vixen Polarie) and a light-Pollution filter to also increase colors and contrasts! However it's the first ever attempt at a time-lapse of this object with this amount of details and a foregrounds. All material is copyrighted AMPF and may not be used without the owner's approval.
