DEMENTED : A Psychological Thriller Short Film

"Demented" is a short film about a psychotic nurse who tortures a detective. All cast and crew were local to Manchester, UK. We shot the film in approximately 6 hours with 5 hours set up and rehearsal. This was a self funded indie project with a budget of £300. Our budget went on hiring Kino Flow Lighting, costumes/ props and crew expenses. All cast and crew worked for food, experience and exposure. Shot on the Sony FS7 in S-log 2 and graded using Film Convert. We also had two gimble shots which were accomplished using the DJI Ronin and Canon C100. There were numerous visual effects shots in this short film including the liquid in the syringe and the medical monitors. The effects were accomplished using 3D tracking software Mocha and composited using Adobe After Effects. Although now I make a living as a commercial camera operator having trained at Staffordshire University I endeavour to make a least one short film every year to push my creativity and expand on my skills as a film-maker.
