Demi Lovato's official music video for Heart Attack just debuted and we've got the details. First off, I've never seen anything like it. It turned out really interesting and cool -- especially with the artistic addition of the black slicked hands. Back when the musician got spotted during the shoot with this standout oil look, a lot of people were wondering how on earth it would fit in with Heart Attack. Well, my best guess is that the contrasting color allows us to see how much this person Demi's singing about affects her, and you can literally see the black start to cover more of her body throughout the video - until at the end, she's completely covered emerging as a totally different vision. I could also see this visual concept trying to get at the lyrics about shielding yourself with this other person: QUOTE "You make me glow, but I cover up / Won't let it show, so I'm /Puttin' my defenses up"... and DL's all white attire and pretty fresh faced makeup for the scenes with the black oil really allow us to see the after-effects of the feelings this person gives to Demi. We love the performance parts that inter-spiced throughout "Heart Attack" because you can really see Demi connecting with the song. She looks totally Demi - from her makeup and style to her singing and vibe. In fact, the music video director, Chris Applebaum told MTV that in 20 years of doing music videos, this is only the second time that he's experienced an artist actually singing live for a shoot. He mentioned that she was impressive, emotional and wonderful -- QUOTE "Demi is the real deal. People felt it when they were around her." And he too said that "Heart Attack" is about a duality that Demi faces - from being more innocent and trying to protect herself from getting hurt to being more harsh and not really wanting to fall in love.
