OVER-THE-RHINE, Ohio (WKRC) - Crews have begun tearing down the old Kroger on Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine.
The store closed its doors for good when the new 45,000 square-foot downtown store opened just a few blocks away last month.
In June, the historic conservation board gave the okay to tear down the 15,000 square-foot building to turn the property into a 103-space parking lot. That lot should open in spring 2020.
Eventually, 3CDC says it plans a larger mixed-use development in that location.
Demolition should last about six weeks.
