The organization Dentists Without Borders Sweden sent the first volunteer group to Mufindi district in Tanzania under november 2016.
We cooperated with NGO Foxes (Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust) during the project.
Our goal: to prevent oral diseases such as dental caries, gingivitis, periodontitis and early tooth loss through proper education about diet, oral hygiene and the origin of these diseases.
We visited and worked at eight primary schools and in the Mufindi orphanage. We traveled around 2 to 3 hours per day to reach these schools.
We screened 2314 people and 714 were remitted to the dental clinic in Mdabulo to get treated.
Humble Brush sponsored with their ecological bamboo brushes.
Responsible of the project: Bodil Sandin
Volunteers: Azin Broomand, Charitini Papadopoulou, Karin Öhman and Verónica Aragón
Music: "River Flows in you" by Yiruma
