Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe Amputee beach soccer player Alexandre Marinho showcased his skills on a Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, as he met with friends for game of “altinho.” Marinho explained that he lost his leg three months ago, but continued on playing “altinho” as he did for the past forty years. Not deterred by his amputation, he now simply uses his head and left leg to play. “It's been a very short time since I started playing without a leg. I'm precocious because I've had my leg amputated just three months ago," he said. Altinho, which during Marinho’s childhood meant simply “lifting the ball on the beach,” has professionalized over time and has now its own rules, competitions and championships, as the beach soccer player explained.
