Detecting Germany! - Huge Mining Operation and Old Church. | Nugget Noggin

I had the opportunity to go metal detecting at a huge coal mining operation in Germany. The company purchased an entire town of about 30,000 in population because there is coal in the ground under it. Now the town is abandoned and waiting to be destroyed. I got to search around an old church in the town and I found many coins from the WWII era and a 1951 five mark silver coin. This is part one of my Germany trip, I will have more footage posted later. All finds were found on property with the owners permission. An archaeologist was present too, but I didn't find anything from the Roman time period in the area I was detecting. The Roman settlement could easily be somewhere else on the property or already dug up from previous mining. In the beginning of this video I was flying from the Paris airport to Germany, in case anyone was wondering.
