Diamond X-50N co-linear antenna hit by lightning ?

Is the pitting as a result of electrostatic discharge or just poor metal I wonder on this Diamond X-50N ? It's a little hard to see in this video as my phone doesn't focus too well in video mode close up. The top boss that the ground planes come out of is very seriously pitted. Interestingly, this antenna has a metal tip which is grounded and this showed no damage.
