This is more of a "Let me show you" video on removing rust and installing a patch panel on my 1999 Chevy S-10 cab corner using epoxy instead of welding.
Shot over 5 days after work, it starts with the removal of old, shaping, and installing the new panel, then paint. I have yet to find a good paint match for this truck, I'm gonna have to have some mixed and spray them for real this summer.
Now, the chemicals:
The epoxy used was Napa/VersaChem Steel Weld Epoxy System #765-2410.
Napa 6383 Kleanz-Easy Surface cleaner for oil/wax removal.
3M All-Around Autobody Sealant 08500 was used to fill in any non-visible panel joints not covered/filled with epoxy.
SEM Self Etching Primer 39693 Green was used for a base over all work.
Dupli-Color Truck, Van & SUV Acrylic Lacquer T282 Deep Jewel Green (wrong!) and 1502 Lacquer Clear Coat.
