This is the J Tech Photonics laser (http://www.jtechphotonics.com) upgrade to the MakerBot Thing-O-Matic 3D Printer in action. The laser is a 2W 455nm diode component laser running on a 2 Amp J Tech Photonics high current driver board (http://jtechphotonics.com/?product=2-0-amp-high-current-laser-driver). The plastic is a thin sheet of Mylar transparency film that is being cut for a solder stencil for home smd circuit board manufacturing.
