What you’ll need: A basketball, a heavy-duty knife, a leather punch, a paracord, a hook from a tire repair kit, an empty soda bottle, sand, Shoe Goo glue, painter’s tape
Directions: Cut a 5” to 6” slit in the basketball. Punch five holes on each side. Using the repair kit hook, pull the paracord through the holes and lace it up like you would a shoe, keeping it loose. Remove the lid and cut off the bottom of the soda bottle. Use the bottle to funnel sand into the basketball. Pull the paracord tight and tie with a double box knot. Secure the loose ends. Liberally spread the glue over the slit and paracord. Form a rectangle around the glued area with painter’s tape, continuing to spread evenly, and let it dry. Remove the tape and your medicine ball is ready to slam against things.
