DJI-S800 First Test Shoot From The On Board Camera (Sony NEX-5R 16mm Lens F2.8) This is the first test flight since adding the new IMU v2 to correct the issue where the unit descends without warning. New gains were also introduced. Very successful. The hexacopter was stable in the air, and held GPS lock well, especially given the blustery conditions. It was quite responsive too. I attempted to shoot my first vision from the unit. Ignore the quality of the first shot, it's only there to demonstrate the retractable landing gear. The aerials were extremely smooth, considering it was quite windy. Overall I'm VERY happy with the result. The 5000mAh batteries lasted 13min before it auto landed. I can see it going to take a lot of practice to fly and shoot at the same time. For example today I was shooting the 360 degree aerial at about 30m, and without realising it I had climbed to 60m! Lots of learning to do!
