Feb 8-9-10 All the best views from Crescent City Todd (my 1985 Toyota Dolphin) has tackled all the tough mountain highways and won! : D The Pacific Coast Highway (101) is the prettiest and most interesting drive. If you can, make time to check it out for yourself. It was SOOOOOO worth it!!!!! Really made my trip! So, Crescent City. When I grow up and make lots of money I'm gonna buy a house there! If that doesn't happen, I'm gonna park my dolphin and be just as happy!! : D It's the kind of coastline I've always drempt of, seriously. When I think of watching the sunset over the ocean, this is it! My old friend, Paul, (we worked together at Boeing in the 90s) recently left Huntington Beach & inherited his parent's amazing place on the coast in the most beautiful spot in Crescent City. He had a big parking area in the back of the house, so i camped there for 2 nights. Also enjoyed my first in-home shower in about 39 days!!! Nothing like not seeing someone for 20 years, showing up at their door and saying, "Hi! It's good to see you! Can I take a shower??" lol Next day he gave me and the poochs a tour through the redwoods along an old stagecoach trail! Remember the Ewok's home in Star Wars? They filmed that here! Yeah, wow : ) Eventually found pavement and got to his other place in Gasquet, on the Smith river. Another beautiful spot! You could really get lost out here... accidently or on purpose. Then back to Crescent again for the night. Oh, before i left on the 10th, I met Jimbo Pellegrine when I was out taking photos. We were parked next to each other on the cliffs just taking it all in. Check out this guy! Hillarious, great spirit, biggest surfer you ever seen : ) (he sent me all these links) http://houserentbali.com/21/nusa-dua-villa-house-sea-view-near-beach-4-bedrooms-furnished https://www.theinertia.com/surf/5-best-bald-surfers/ https://balibelly.com/jimbo-pellegrine-always-100-percent/ https://www.surftotal.com/en/news-all/america-mn-news/item/768-best-xxl-surfer-in-the-world-loses-arm Again, I need to start asking people if I can video our conversations, but i just feel awkward about it. WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? 50 yr old computer tech (w/no camping skills) decides to see if she can rough it in an old piece of crap camper she bought from a crazy old lady for $2200. Old lady said everything worked. She lied or has memory issues, cuz almost EVERYTHING was broke. $3000 more and ready for the: 2020 Nomad trip in 1985 Toyota Dolphin from Nebraska to Colorado to New Mexico to Arizona to Nevada to California so far... : ) Boondocking (parking for free) all the way except for 2 times I splurged and bought campsites. All without having stayed at ANY Walmarts yet... as most all that I have found don't allow it anymore. Every day I'm thankful and amazed that it starts up. I love this Dolphin and I hope it gets me back home some day. WHY THIS CHANNEL? Female Empowerment! Anti-Mantra: Women who behave rarely make history - Behave?? Who decides what behaving is? yeah, the old patriarch. F that! We are all evolving and the world is getting smarter and more tolerant, but there are still a lot of women out there who don't have the confidence to go do things on their own because they've been told their whole life that they can't. Come on, look at me. I've been staying alone in a crappy old camper in the desert, wineries, BLM land, truck-stops, golf courses, Cracker Barrel parking lots, residential streets, and rando empty lots. Scared? Get protection. What if i break down? get a tow, rent another vehicle, whatever... it's really not a big deal. All the What if's really aren't a big deal. We have one short life... get out there and live it! To my computer customers in Nebraska: I should be back at Pro Computing the beginning-ish of March... 2020 ; p #vanlife (ish) 2020 Nomad Trip: Solo Female in old 1985 Toyota Dolphin in 1st trip, learning how to do the #vanlife thing, & exploring Nebraska, New Mexico, Arizona, California so far... mostly all stealth style. Left January 1st, 2020. Stops in desert, BLM land, Casino parking lots, Winery parking lots, Cracker Barrel parking lots, hit the RTR (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous-10th anniversary), San Francisco, Redwoods, Trinidad, Klamath, to Crescent City ..... Planning to return home in March.
